watching tv online… is it now possible to watch most tv shows online including live events like sports and news?
I don’t know that anyone will be dumping their cable or satellite TV service anytime soon, but there is a lot more in the way of current television content available online. With the recent storms here in Northern California we had a number of shows that were missed during the four days of no power. The following day we were able to watch all but one of those shows through the network websites. There are a number of news stations and other events available online as well. My guess for the future is more the Slingbox concept where online connectivity us used in addition to the normal cable or satellite broadcasting rather then as a replacement. Slingbox allows you to control your DVR remotely (setup shows to watch) and view content that has been previously recorded via your high speed connection. So as long as you have access to a high speed connection somewhere you can use your laptop to view shows you recorded from home. I have seen a few different applications and websites that sllow
