We are a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). Can we install Nessus 3 on a server appliance that we provide to our customers?
A. If you are a MSSP, you cannot install Nessus 3 on an appliance you provide to your customers unless you purchase and execute an MSSP amendment that permits redsitribution for the Nessus 3 Engine and Plugins from Tenable. To determine if you qualify to enter into a Nessus 3 MSSP license with Tenable, you must retain ownership of the hardware that is placed on customer premises. If your business model is built around a “rent to own” model, you will not qualify for a License for Nessus 3 from Tenable.
