We don t currently use Linux in the organisation, won t this be an additional expense in adopting another O/S?
Linux is an open-source operating system, this means that the source code is freely available to download from the internet at no charge. A number of companies have taken the core OS and added additional utilities to it and packed a complete product these are known as distributions (such as SuSe). Even using these packaged products is quite inexpensive, costing only a fraction of some alternatives. Unlike Linux which is free to download from various internet sources, distributions of Linux are supported by the distributors, providing enterprise users with the support demanded by business.
