We rarely experience freezing temperatures. Is the insulated bin necessary?
If you seldom experience freezing temperatures, the insulated bin will likely not be necessary. However, our objective with composting is to achieve temperatures of 131oF for a minimum of three days. During periods of prolonged cold weather, this may be difficult to achieve in which case insulated wall panels may be warranted.
