We recently purchased a copy of CPHs new United in Song, a CD-ROM product that contains virtually all of the texts and settings from the various LCMS hymnals. Do we have to obtain permission to reprint these in the bulletin?

We recently purchased a copy of CPHs new United in Song, a CD-ROM product that contains virtually all of the texts and settings from the various LCMS hymnals. Do we have to obtain permission to reprint these in the bulletin?

A. There are hundreds of public domain hymns, as well as other hymns copyrighted by CPH, that do not require additional permission prior to their use by a registered user of United in Song. These are indicated in the product. However, for those hymns covered under copyright, the product simplifies the process of obtaining permission by including permission request forms that you can fax to the respective copyright holder.
