Weekly Poll: Has The Jesus Seminar Done More To Modernize Or Undermine Christianity? Thursday July 23, 2009 The Jesus Seminar is the modern culmination of more than two centuries of academic work on who the ‘historical’ Jesus really was. There are currently more than 150 fellows in the Jesus Seminar, which meets twice a year. Their conclusions are reported often, but many Christians disagree quite strongly with them. Has the Jesus Seminar been a force for good in Christianity? Searches for a “historical Jesus” have been popular with Christians over the past couple of centuries. It’s important to remember that any such quest presupposes that the biblical accounts of Jesus are incomplete at best and possible inaccurate.
