Were College of DuPage to pursue a NO TAX RATE INCREASE referendum, would all of the funds be used on maintenance?
The money would be used in a variety of ways: • Beyond the Homeland Security Education Center that is already paid for and being built with funds from the 2002 capital referendum, additional structures would be built to complete an entire tactical village for interagency training. This will be the only facility of its kind anywhere in the Midwest and will establish the College as a leader in Homeland Security, an area listed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as one of the fastest-growing careers over the next decade. • The public recognizes the need for more parking. As a result, the College would explore parking solutions and repair aging roads and sidewalks in the process. • In addition, the College would make significant repairs and improvements to the Library, Physical Education Center and the McAninch Arts Center, all of which are heavily used by both students and the community and are each more than 20 years old.
