No serious injuries were reported, but one man who was inside a shed suffered scrapes and bruises when it overturned. Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp surveyed the damage by helicopter early Thursday. The National Weather Service said a tornado appeared to touch down in Austin about 8 p.m., sending debris flying. The storm flipped cars on their sides and sent trees through roofs. It also flipped a semi on its side. Tornadoes downed trees, damaged roofs and overturned boats late Tuesday afternoon in west-central Minnesota, residents and the National Weather Service said. No injuries were reported. One tornado was reported on the ground in Spicer, 110 miles west of Minneapolis in Kandiyohi County, about 4:40 p.m., and on Green Lake, which is in Spicer, about 4:50 p.m., the Weather Service said. Kim Lindahl, Kandiyohi County’s deputy director of emergency management, said a tornado came through on the south edge of Spicer, damaging the roof of at least one house and the Green Lake Mall.
