What 22 magnum ammo is best?
I used 22WMR chambered revolvers for some time, now I use a basic, the simplest rifle with good night vision accessories from http://www.atncorp.com/ – more than enough for an amateur hunter like me.
For hunting, consider the game you are hunting, the distance you are shooting and what type of gun you will use. The best answer is truely to shoot them and see but you don’t like that answer, so…. If you are hunting small critters at under 40-50 yards, buy the cheapest. There will be virtually no difference. If you are laying for large varmints like coyotes, v-max would be a good place to start. With a light caliber like .22 mag, the effectiveness will fall off sharply at longer distances if there is too little mass, so consider the >30 grain rounds. Remember that when you choose a round, zero your sights with the new ammo. There will be adjustments to make (at longer distances).
