A minimum of two years of general professional training (GPT) must be completed prior to specialist training. Specialist training involves three years of full-time postgraduate training to prepare for the Diploma in Dental Radiology of the Royal College of Radiologists. Two years further training in radiology is required following completion of the Diploma in Dental Radiology before candidates can apply for the award of a CCST and entry on to the specialist register.
