What advantages do LED lights have over incandescent lights?
One advantage that LED lights have over incandescent lights is they are not susceptible to vibration. The filaments inside incandescent lights can break – especially when going over railway tracks or driving on rough road conditions – shortening their life span. Another advantage is that once the diode board has been built, it’s completely encapsulated with epoxy, protecting it to the point that even when a lens falls off an LED will stay lit because it’s the diode that makes the color, not the lens. The lens only enhances the color. One of the other advantages is the “life costs” to a fleet. The longer lifespan of an LED means that instead of replacing a light 10 times over the life of the truck or trailer, you’ll never have to replace it.
