What affects the cling of plastic wrap?
In general, we have found that all brands of plastic wrap cling best to glass, china or ceramic dishes and bowls; plastic wraps do not cling well to Tupperware®, Rubbermaid®, plastic dishes, paper plates, metal cookie tins or stainless steel bowls. Poor cling may also result from the bowl or container being wet. All plastic wraps cling better when the bowl is dry. Wet bowls or condensation on bowls after refrigeration will inhibit the ability of all plastic wraps to cling. Because of the composition of our product, Reynolds® Seal-Tight Plastic Wrap is very strong and stretches to seal without splitting. Therefore, to obtain the tightest seal, the plastic wrap should be stretched as it is placed over the bowl or dish to be covered.
