What age groups does Dr. Goodman work with?
The bulk of his practice is with adults and older adolescents. Children may be seen for treatment if they have sufficient motivation to undertake ERP and a parent can attend sessions and act as their anxiety “coaches” between sessions. If insufficient motivation exists then beginning treatment with a family counselor or a specialist in child therapy to explore this may be helpful. Parents are welcome to come in for a consultation regarding their child’s anxiety and ways they may be able to help. Insurance generally does not pay for this.
