What age is bedwetting considered a problem?
Physicians generally say age four, yet many of them will tell you that you shouldn’t worry about bedwetting regardless of the age of your child when you ask. There seems to be a presumption that a child of four or five won’t understand when you talk about it anyway. The first recommendation is for you to simply “wait it out; after all, it isn’t a problem at this age.” We respectfully disagree! There is nothing simple about waiting for bedwetting to go away. Shall we wait until bedwetting is causing problems before starting anything? The sooner you act, the sooner you will prevent problems that develop as the years go by and other bedwetting solutions leave you “high and ‘wet’.” As soon as your child is dry during the day for several months, you can start doing subtle things at your child’s level of understanding.
