Pre-preschool 3 Preschool 4 Kindergarten 5 Pre-preschool is not necessary, but some parents feel more comfortable having their child get a little bit of school experience in advance. It’s rare for a child to start pre-preschool at the age of 2, & some schools don’t allow a child under 3 to start. Also, most preschools will not accept a child who is not potty trained. Since your son is having speech issues, he would benefit from having a speech therapist where he can get 1 on 1 attention with someone who specializes in that area, than what he would sitting in a classroom.
