What age is it safe to breed a dog?
If you’re not a breeder, (and by the nature of the question, you’re NOT), or unless you have an awesomely pedigreed dog that could enhance the quality of the breed, breeding a dog shouldn’t even be a topic for discussion. It leads people to get ideas they they could do a good job breeding their dog. There are some, rather, a lot of breeders that fit this category; they are called “Back Yard Breeders,”(BYB) and are destroying the integrity of the breeds they work with, and are turning out cross bred mutts under the name of “hybrid” dogs. So even if a dog has reached the safer breeding age of at least two years old, it should only be done by reputable, qualified breeders of integrity.
