Children typically start potty training between 24 and 30 months (in my experience). There are some who start early and some who aren’t even potty trained by three. It’s all about the child and where they’re at developmentally. Has your daughter shown at interest in starting to use the potty? If so, this is a good sign. You don’t want to force her into something that she’s not ready for because it will get you nowhere. Start by having her try to use the potty during diaper changes, before/after bath, before nap, or before bed. Whenever there’s a transition time where you feel like she should be using the toilet. If she even attempts to use the potty (whether she goes or not is not important right away) PRAISE HER. Tell her what a “big girl” she is. Children love to hear this. Continuous praise, rewards, and encouragement are all important in potty training. Just be consistent, positive, and patient.
