What an inexpensive way to insulate my camelback hose?

The simplest and cleanest way is to just buy one of the Camelbak winter kits. They come with a neoprene sleeve for the hose, and a cover for the bite valve. They aren’t expensive…..I paid $10 for mine. I suppose you could visit the local hardware store and check out the weatherstripping that’s available. There are several kinds of adhesive-backed open cell foam weatherstripping that you could apply. You could spiral-wrap the small stuff or look for the 1-1/2″ wide garage door strips and maybe just fold them over the hose and use the tape to stick it to itself. Another idea might be to slide some larger tubing over the hose, but I don’t think you’ll find anything that’s flexible. If that’s ok, then it would probably work to insulate a little. I think it’d be better to just buy the ready-made product, though. (ps….if anyone suggests salt, antifreeze, or windshield washer fluid…..politely decline.
