What and When are the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards?Answer: The Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the United States for excellence in children’s and young adult literature. The annual Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards are traditionally announced in June. Awards are given in three categories: Picture Book, Fiction and Poetry, and Nonfiction. Up to two Honor Books may also be named in each of the categories. In order to be eligible for the annual Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards, a book for children or young adults must have been published in the United States. The writer and illustrator may be a citizen of any country. The book must have been published between June of the previous year and May of the year in which the Awards are selected.
