What are Belbins Team Roles?
From research conducted over many years Dr Meredith Belbin has discovered that teams work most effectively when they contain members with a range of preferred roles. These have come to be known as Shaper, Coordinator, Teamworker, Completer Finisher, Implementer, Monitor Evaluator, Plant, Resource Investigator and Specialist. A team with too many Plants and not enough Completer Finishers is likely to create lots of innovative ideas (the role of Plants) but there will be no-one to put them into action (the role of Completer Finishers).
