What are brown or black specs sometimes found in sugar?
Imperial maintains very stringent quality control standards for the purpose of providing our customers with only high quality products. Sugar can collect on the inside of sugar production equipment and become darkened during the production process. The build-up sometimes flakes off into the sugar during production. Even though these specs are undesirable, they are not harmful and are rare. We schedule routine cleaning to minimize this problem and monitor the finished product for quality control.
