What are Browns Third Semester Calculus Courses (Math 18, Math 20, and Math 35)?
There are three distinct third-semester calculus courses at Brown: Math 18, 20 and 35. All three courses cover functions of two and three variables, partial derivatives, maxima and minima, gradients, space curves, multiple integrals, calculation of volumes and surface areas, cylindrical and spherical coordinates, and an introduction to vector analysis, specifically line integrals and Green’s Theorem, and, to some extent, surface integrals and Stokes’ Theorem and the Divergence Theorem.
