What are communicable diseases?
Communicable diseases are those that are spread by touch, direct contact or even through the air. it is necessary for Prevention Services staff to track these illnesses to prevent the transmission of disease. Some of the diseases investigated by Prevention Services are Chlamydia, Hepatitis A, B and C, Giardia, Salmonella and Campylobacter. Prevention Services does not provide threatment for communicable diseases, but will provide a referral to the Community Health Care Center or your healthcare provider for treatment.
