What are Cultured Marble, Granite, Onyx and Solicoat?
Cultured stone is a man-made product, essentially a mixture of the natural mineral dolomite, combined with color pigments, molded and ‘baked’ with specially-blended hardeners, then hand-finished. The result is ‘cultured’ granite, marble, onyx and SolicoatTM with all the look and feel of natural stone, but with distinct advantages. Cultured stone is warm and touchably smooth, yet exceptionally durable. It’s seamless and non-porous, which means it resists bacteria, stains and hard-water marks. And because it’s molded, it can be made into many shapes, sizes and colours. The Marble Factory custom-makes cultured granite, marble, onyx and SolicoatTM bath surfaces in a wide range of contemporary and traditional styles and colours. Visit us today for your free estimate! Hey there, as mentioned above, the cultured stones are the ones that are man-made. Basically, they are not the ones that you find in nature. Usually, these stones are being used for furniture. For example, I have ordered Quartz Kitchen Worktops London. I didn’t order the natural stone because it’s way cheaper and less heavy. The cultured stones are also being used for jewelry, statues and decorations, as it is easier to shape them (in comparison to the natural ones). Hope this answers your question.
