Electronic components are basic electronic elements usually packaged in a distinct form with two or more connecting leads or metallic pads. Some are very simple and others extremely complexed. Components are intended to be linked together, usually be soldering to a printed circuit board, to create an electronic circuit with a specific function (like a radio receiver, amplifier or oscillator). Components may be packaged singly (resistor, capacitator, transistor, diode etc.) or in more or less complex groups as integrated circuits (resistor array, operational amplifier, logic gate etc.).
