What are erosion control blankets?
Erosion control blankets (ECBs) combine forces with vegetation using “natures own way” as an erosion preventer. This stops the loss of soil on steep slopes, banks and channels. How do ECBs actually work? ECBs hold seed and soil in place, degrading over time as vegetation becomes established. ECBs also protect the soil and accelerate vegetative development. Landlok ECBs also protect developing vegetation against water and wind erosion, provide the soil surface with partial shading, moderation of soil temperatures and moisture retention. What are ECBs made from? The ECBs we are carrying are made from weed-free straw and coconut fibers and polypropylene. Should you need a much aggressive ECB, we can suggest which to use since there are various types for all applications. How are ECBs anchored into place on the slope or bank? U-shaped wire staples or metal geotextile pins are used to anchor the mat to the ground surface. Wire staples and the metal pins should be driven flush to the soil su
