What are fractions in simplest form?

0

If you are simplifying fractions, their simplest form is when you cannot divide the top and the bottom by the same whole number to get another whole number. For example, the fraction 5/25 is not in simplest form because you could divide the top and the bottom by 5 to get 1/5. On the other hand, 8/49 is in it’s simplest form because 8 only has factors of 1,2,4, and 8, and apart from 1 (which wouldn’t do anything), 49 is not divisable by any of these numbers. Usually what I do is find the factors of the smallest number and make sure that the larger number is not divisable by any of those numbers.
