What are good foods for older babies to eat by themselves?
Keep Kids Healthy has a nice list of finger foods for your eight- to 12-month-old to enjoy, including baby crackers; pieces of bread; plain wafer type cookies; dry cereals, like cheerios; cut and well cooked vegetable pieces, like green beans, potatoes, or peas; pieces of soft ripe fruits (bananas, etc.); and small pieces of cheese. BabyCenter adds some other ideas, like pieces of avocado, well-cooked pasta like shells or noodles (no sauce needed), and small pieces of cooked tofu.
