What are good hamburger recipes for the grill?
A favorite of my family is Ćevapčići (Che-VAHP-chee-chee) are the Balkan equivalent of the hamburger, but are shaped like fingers. My family loves them. 1 lb lean ground beef 1/2 head garlic, mashed (You should REALLY taste the garlic) freshly ground black pepper freshly ground white pepper freshly grated whole cinnamon (pinch) freshly ground whole allspice (pinch) red hot chili pepper, diced very fine (to taste) Dash of Maggi salt Mix well, shape and grill. Normally, these are shaped into cylinders about the size of a man’s index finger, but my mom makes them about the size of a hot dog, so they fit on a bun. You can eat them in a pita pocket, too. Serve with yogurt, fresh sliced cucumbers, onions and tomatoes, and chopped fresh parsley.
