What are good methods and baits to use to catch bullheads?

Bullheads are pretty easy to catch. In the evening and at night they come in close to shore to feed and can be caught on a variety of things. A nightcrawler on the bottom works well, but sometimes gets bothered by other fish such as perch. One method I like to use to keep the other fish away from my bait is to use cut bait. I will use some of the scraps from an earlier catch of panfish. I have fould that cut up sunfish works great. I just cast this out 20-30 feet off shore and fish it on the bottom. Bullheads are nibblers though and will often roll the bait around a bit before actually taking it. I wait and make sure I have a good run before setting the hook. Many other baits work well late in the day for bullheads too, as they are not finicky. Stinkbaits, raw bacon strips, raw shrimp, liver, cut up hotdogs, cubed up meat, worms, minnows, etc, all work well for bullheads.
