What are good vegetarian sources of iron and protein?

0

Does “meat” include eggs? dairy products? fish? All of these are very good protein sources. If you mean vegan, than beans, nuts, and peas are all very good protein sources, especially in conjunction with grains. As for iron, leafy greens are a good source. But many vegans take iron and B-12 supplements. Especially B-12, because B-12 is not found in plants. Edit: Hey Shivers. And a smile right back at you. I’ve been vegetarian for 25 years with no health problems of any kind. And I’m a big guy – so protein is not a problem. My sons 14 and 16 are both rapidly growing into big, muscular men, and they have been vegetarians their entire life. So I would not worry about the protein thing. But B-12, unless you are eating fortified foods (or eggs), is a big deal because plants don’t make that vitamin. And since you are a woman, iron might be a big deal too (I do not know), so you might want to think about supplements or iron-added vitamins. Good luck.
