What are higher-level instructional responsibilities?

0

Under the guidelines of the Department of Education, CUSD defines higher-level instructional responsibilities as responsibilities and commitments above and beyond those typically expected of teachers at their site and/or by their overseeing administrator. In addition, these responsibilities must directly target an academic focus and must be completed outside of contract time (unless in Focus II). Teachers are expected to complete an increasingly higher level of instructional responsibilities at higher levels of the ladder. These responsibilities must contribute to the improvement of teacher leadership skills, student learning, and teacher professional growth. Lesson planning, individual curriculum mapping, and preparation to meet the needs of learners are not considered to be higher level instructional responsibilities, but normal responsibilities of each teacher.
