Marinas are striving for recognition as Maryland Clean Marinas. As the first step toward becoming a certified Clean Marina, marina operators are asked to sign a pledge indicating that they will do their part “to keep Maryland s waterways free of harmful chemicals, excess nutrients, and debris.” To achieve full standing as a Clean Marina, they must adopt a number of the recommendations in the Maryland Clean Marina Guidebook. The Guidebook provides a comprehensive review of pollution prevention measures. Recognized Clean Marinas will be able to use the Clean Marina logo in their advertising and on their letterhead.
