In addition to writing the Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) number or the HSC exemption code on the Dealer Record of Sale (DROS), you must also keep a copy of the HSC or a copy of the proof of exemption documentation with the original DROS. You must also complete and attach to the DROS, an affidavit stating the safe handling demonstration requirement was met.
