Omega-9 fatty acids are a class of unsaturated fatty acids that have a carbon-carbon double bond in the 9th carbon atom position from the end of the fatty acid. Omega-9 fatty acids are NON-ESSENTIAL in that they can be created by the human body from unsaturated fat and, therefore, are not essential to be consumed in the diet.
