What are Prescribed classes?
Prescribed classes are classes designed for students who need additional instruction in areas before completing regular college curriculum courses. ACT scores, assessment tests, and areas of high school deficiency are used to determine an individual student’s need for prescribed classes. Courses in mathematics, reading, and writing are offered. A learning strategies course is required for students who are placed in any two of those subject areas. A grade of “C” or better is required to satisfy a Prescribed Course requirement.
