What are Reeves Water Color tubes?
Each tube of color contains 0.4 ounces (12 ml) of concentrated watercolor paint. If you have never used quality watercolors from a tube, you are in for a treat! These watercolor paints should be squeezed in small amounts onto a plastic painter’s palette with small wells for mixing colors. I generally keep two palettes, one for warm colors like reds, yellows and oranges; and one for cool colors like blues, violet and greens. (I avoid mixing more than two warm and cool tones together unless I want to create brown). Reeves watercolors must be used with suitable, good quality brushes and heavyweight watercolor paper for best results. After adding some color to your palette, add a few brush-dips of water to the well and stir until smooth. Reeves’ colors are very smooth when stirred and load up on the brush nicely if enough water is used. A note about cleanup ~ Reeves watercolors don’t require special thinners or solvents. You just use soap and water when cleaning up your palette and brushes
