What are some common misconceptions about veganism?
Firstly, I think that most people have the idea that veganism is just about food – as far as I’m concerned, it’s about your whole lifestyle, and wanting to cause as little harm as possible. Secondly, people ask me why I am vegan, and by asking that question, it suggests that they don’t really understand what veganism is. As far as I know, a vegan is someone who tries to avoid exploiting, harming or killing animals, and so the only reason can be compassion. By suggesting that there could be another reason, I think veganism has already been misunderstood in the first place.
