What Are Some Food Ides For A Puppy Who Has Very Small Teeth And Has Trouble Chewing?
When my Shih-tzu was a puppy he had problems chewing his food as well. I would dampen the dry kibble just a bit, just enough to wet the outside of it. After a few minutes in the bowl like this the dry kibble became a little chewy and softer. Chewbacca found it much easier to both chew and swallow. Even today 2 1/2 years later if his belly is not feeling well or something else is amiss I wet his kibble again and he views it as a treat, gladly gobbling up the whole bowl of food previously ignored. Plain boiled white rice cooked then cooled to room temperature was another way to get some easy to chew food into him while he was sick. I had a scary experience with Chewbacca eating an Advil Liqua-gel and he almost died, this white rice substitue was what the vet recommended while he recovered.
