When it comes to furniture ideas for a baby's room, there are a number of options. Designers can be called in, given a budget, and then permitted to design and structure the room according to their vision. A less expensive option is to visit a shop that specialized in baby furniture, and purchase the latest line they have in stock. Most new parents get psyched at the thought of decorating a nursery, but the truth is that newborn babies don't need much. In fact, many times a parent will want their new baby close by in a bassinet or co-sleeper, nixing the nursery all together!

Some useful, and more popular pieces for a nursery would be a dresser to hold all of babies clothing and "supplies." A dresser can also double as a changing table simply by putting a changing pad on top!

Cribs that can turn into toddler beds, and later full beds are also a wise choice because even if you end up sleeping with your babe for the first few weeks, you won't feel guilty about the money spent.

A comfortable chair to nurse and feed in is also a great item to have; obviously a rocking chair is a better choice, but an overstuffed reading chair can work well too.

Nurseries can be kept to a minium in the begining - over time add on little odds and ends you find, but keep it simple in the begining. Your baby won't know the difference!
