Squat Thrusts. My Dad (yes my Dad) and I used to play two man Volleyball. Here’s how you do it: Put your arms out in front of you. Squat down until your butt touches your ankles. Put your hands on the ground and kick your legs back into a push-up stance. Do a push-up or three (optional but recommended) then kick your legs back into the squat position. Steady yourself as you bring your arms out in front of you again and slowly stand erect. Repeat. It will hurt like hell but repeat. The Dig is a science though. When the ball is dropping on you, you need to squat a bit before the ball is dropping on you. As it reaches your head level you start to stand erect but leave your arms at about waist level and leave them loose (make sure your hands are cupped). When the volleyball reaches the middle of your chest, start standing and bring your arms up slowly making sure you connect with the ball with the center of your forearms. This will slow the ball down making it easier for the Spiker to deli
