What are some good Greek mythology movies?
There’s Troy which is about Achilles and when Helen was kidnapped or willing to go with Paris to Troy and the Greeks declared war and it has the whole wooden horse and everything but it is from the Trojans point of view alot – its got brad pitt and orlando bloom in cinema’s at the moment there is Clash of the Titans with the guy from Terminater Salvation – it’s about the son of Zeus and Danae – Perseus, he chopped of Medusa’s head with the help of Athena and Hermes and he saved Andromeda and married her and he saved his mother from being forced to marry some King – thats the mythology part i haven’t actually seen this movie but thats the basis.
Troy is a good action movie; it’s based on the story of Helen of Troy and Paris and the war that started when they eloped together which is an ancient Greek mythology story although based on people rather than Gods; it’s a good story; also Clash of the Titans is good, has just been released in the UK so has probably been out a while in the US. It’s more about the Greek Gods and myths; I haven’t seen it but it has had good reviews. I’m sorry I can’t think of anymore except Jason and The Argonauts which is about Jason and the golden fleece (another Greek myth), it’s a pretty old movie but you would probably find it on eBay or a movie rental website.
