The top rabbit breeds recommended for children are: Himalayan, Holland Lop, Jersey Wooly, American Fuzzy Lop, Dutch, and Mini Rex. They are the perfect size for kids to handle, love people, are friendly and curious, and even the wooled JW and AFL are fairly easy to care for. I have a group of 4H children doing the rabbit project. Most of them are young. Ages range from 5 years to 14. We just had our monthly project meeting last night.
