She can always do a speech on animal issues, like cruelty laws that need improving, puppy mills, etc. There should be an argument in her speech so she is proving her point when she addresses the crowd. If animals aren’t her thing, there’s the environment, lowering the voting age (timely in the age of Obama, who had huge youth support) or the effect of the media on youth body image. Superstition could be good, she could speak to how superstitions have been harmful in the past (drowning suspected witches) and how we comfort ourselves with superstitions because it makes us feel we have some control. Like we throw spilled salt over our shoulder to prevent bad luck, etc. Tell her good luck and a helpful hint: look at one or two people in the crowd and nod slightly when you make a point. It’s a subconscious way to get people to agree. I speak to tour groups at my local shelter and to city council and use it all the time.
