What are some modern day Biblical allusions?
They are all over the place, but since my brothers just got done watching the second Narnia movie I will start there. The lion is Jesus and it’s basically a retelling of the bible. Basically every Keanu Reeves movie has a biblical subtext, for instance the matrix where he is the Christ figure. Any movie that uses the imagery of “sacrifice” will more or less be a biblical illusion, but that is a pretty wide net. Hope that helped, if you aren’t looking for literary or film allusions then all sorts of things we say and do relate to biblical passages. The phrase “go the extra mile” is biblical in origin, the word “goodbye” is based on the idea of god following the traveler (god be with you was shortened) Ok now I’m rambling, good luck finding more.
