An autocratic government is very efficient in times of crisis. Democratic governments have too much bureacracy. An autocracy can take action swiftly and decisively. There is no “Senate” or “Congress” or “Parliament” or whatever to notify and gain approval of. The autocrat doesn’t have to worry of what the voters might think because there are no voters.
