Similarities: -there are children -there is an adult -there are books, writing utensils, paper, etc. -they have field trips -they’re both supposed to be a place for kids to learn in Differences: -the approaches are usually different -the children can get more guidance at home than in school -totally different social structures and cultures -usually more focused time at home than at school -more flexibility in scheduling at home than at school -resources for homeschooling are usually chosen for what will be best for that family’s kids and not something mandated by a group of people for every child in the system -kids can work more at their pace at home than at school, letting them go faster or slower as needed -kids homeschooling often have the time to pursue personal interests Probably lots more!!
