What are some symbols of the greek god poseidon?
In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the god of the sea, as well as of horses and, as “Earth-Shaker,” of earthquakes. Poseidon rides a chariot that was pulled by a hippocampus or by horses that could ride on the sea. He was associated with dolphins and three-pronged fish spears (tridents). The symbol of Poseidon’s power was the trident, a spear with three points which was a traditional implement of a Mediterranean fisherman, with which he (Poseidon) used to shatter rocks, to call forth or subdue storms, or shake the Earth. The trident is still recognized as the symbol of sea-power.
