What are some wars started by female politicians / dictators or females in general?
Golda Meier was Prime Minister of England at the time of the Yom Kippur War, but if I recall, Israel was attacked by Syria (an Arab country at least) on Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, the most sacred day of the Jewish calendar when Orthodox Jews do not work. She did not start the war. I’m not sure, but I think India either had problems with China or Pakistan or both while Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister of India. Margaret Thatcher, like has been mentioned was PM during the Falklands War against Argentina in the early 80’s. Joan of Arc might be the most famous female ‘general’, she led her troops against the British to put the rightful heir to the French throne in power. She of course was a peasant girl, who believed God told her to lead the army. The Catholic Church, fearing she was a witch and that she communicated with demons, burned her at the stake.
