What are standard engines in F1?
There is no standard specification yet issued. They’re bickering about the idea in principle, which I understand says that engines will be built to a standard spec and there will only be two engine changes allowed per year. The big boys don’t like it, they say it will cramp their engine development programmes. Others, with less money to throw at it, seem to think it’s a good idea.
